Migdale Castle - Upstate New York

Migdale Castle is one of America’s few remaining castles and was built in 1927 to evoke the grandeur of the famous Skibo Castle in Scotland. The property was recently purchased by one of my clients for personal use. Two of my ceramic sculptures now reside within this incredible home.

Migdale Castle sits on 200 acres of land overlooking sweeping vistas of the Catskill Mountain and is entered through a winding private driveway that leads to a giant gatehouse that opens up to the vast estate beyond. The house is divided into four wings–each for a different member of the family and each has its own personality. The expansive four-story residence has 29 rooms in total that each have a distinctive name and theme. Some of the luxurious amenities include an indoor edgeless pool with a glass wall overlooking the great lawn (the largest single-pane ever built), a 5000-bottle wine cellar, a 13-seat theatre, a fully equipped spa featuring a treatment room, steam rooms with saunas and a hot tub. The grounds of the estate include a tennis court with a cabana, a playground, numerous ponds, an organic garden with a greenhouse, and orchard fields.
